Fannie's Braised Lima Beans

1 large bag frozen Fordhook Lima Beans
Water
Salt
4 strips bacon
Put the frozen lima beans in a large saucepan and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook about 15 minutes. Drain well.

In the meantime, fry the bacon in an iron skillet until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside to cool. Add the lima beans to the bacon fat in the skillet and saute them about 10 minutes, stirring often, until done. Ideally, the beans will begin to brown just the tiniest bit!
This is how my Grandmother York cooked green lima beans. They are delicious served over hot, buttered rice.
