Chili Pot Roast

Chili Pot Roast

3-4 lb beef chuck roast
1 large onion, chopped
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
1 Tbsp chili powder
Salt & Pepper


Brown the meat in a hot Dutch oven; remove.  Saute the onion in the pan drippings (add 1-2 Tbsp oil if necessary).  Stir in remaining ingredients.  Return meat to pan.  Cover and simmer or bake in a preheated 350~ oven for 2 1/4 to 3 hours or until fork tender.  Serves 6.  Good with rice and black beans.
